Bodywork

Equine Sports Massage and Tissue Mobilisation are the manipulation of the musculoskeletal system involving a whole bunch of techniques. The aim of a bodywork session is to target affected areas and breakdown tension allowing blood flow to return to normal and help the muscle function correctly. This reduces or alleviates pain, promotes well-being, improves posture and way of going, increases performance and can at times be relaxing to your horse.

Red light therapy (RLT)  improves circulation and tissue oxygenation allowing muscles to heal quicker and to alleviate pain. RLT stimulates the happy cells in the brain which prompts red blood cells to flood sites of injury and leads to faster recovery and regeneration. Non-invasive and particularly useful on very sensitive horses.

Rehabilitation

With my husband and children, we own a small farm at Apsley. It's a picturesque property and I happily accept horses spelling, going through recovery or if they're in need of rehabilitation. I have my own problem horses - one of them is Calvados pictured to the right - he suffers from Equine Metabolic Syndrome which basically means he's predisposed to be fat. Our approach with him is encouraging movement in his paddock and exercise. I'm happy to rehabilitate most horses - just send me a message or jump on the phone and we can have a chat.

Exercise Physiology & Education

Exercise physiology involves a full assessment of you and your horse and the goals you have set to achieve.

A program will then be developed to prepare you for success.

I provide owner education and am happy to attend club rally days, group sessions or private lessons to educate and empower owners on how to provide at home care for their horses.
